Hi, I'm Carol
I started my career in advertising. Shortly after graduating from the University of Illinois in Graphic Design, I freelanced at several design studios in Chicago and landed at a consumer ad agency. I assisted the creative director who took me under his wing. I went on photos shoots, video and radio shoots as well as designed ads (of all sizes) as well a POP displays, booklets, packaging, and brochures. My favorite part of agency work was collaborating with writers on campaigns. They came up with the perfect words to support my visual ideas.

The agency merged with another and it wasn't the same. This was my opportunity to go back to pure graphic design! I worked at a small design studio with another woman and we ran the place. We found new business, serviced the clients and even did the bookkeeping. So we asked, "Why can't we do this on our own?" And we did. With her background in university publications and mine in advertising, we started Parameter Design, Inc. Our skills landed us design jobs with schools, universities, hospitals and associations. We also worked with a variety of businesses on logos and corporate identity packages. Customer service was key to the success of our business.
After 20 years I had another passion I wanted to explore, so I co-founded two fashion and beauty blogs, Second City Style and Fountain Of 30. Through blogging I learned about the ever-changing internet, web imaging, HTML, SEO, email blasts and working with brands on social media campaigns. I manage a team of editors and have mentored interns and artists. Ten years ago I became sole proprietor of Parameter Design, LLC. The blogs have become a side hobby and
my main focus is graphic design.
I can take on a variety of design projects from initial concept through print or for web. Right now I am seeking contract work or a full time position. I can work on multiple projects at the same time, am willing to work long hours and would treat your company as if it were my own.
